Nearly 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland were left experiencing outages on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms impacted the area, bringing powerful gusts topping 109km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Destruction
Residents observed large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that various areas across the state had been affected by significant hail.

Emergency response teams received over five hundred requests for assistance across the area, mainly for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

Moist weather were forecast to persist along large portions of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
Tomorrow was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with continued thunderstorm potential anticipated across multiple regions of both areas.

Health officials warned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
