In a bizarre crossover event that breaks conventional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.

According to the official release, "A strange encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where whispers of banned practices and terrifying transformations reverberate through the darkness." The narrative features a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a secret sect.
The questline focuses on "strange tests and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Changes
The preview highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer concludes with a powerful moment showing a character, likely the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Extra Features
Players who finish the mission will receive an unique katana alongside numerous items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

This patch also adds the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "The Enigma."
